The whiskey barrel shelf is made from a retired repurposed whiskey barrel. Each piece is unique and handcrafted. We preserve the natural barrel marks and veins to show the authenticity of the life and story of each barrel. Ideal for anyone who values vintage style. The finish is a polyurethane finish. Everything has been sanded smooth to the touch. Yet, the barrel still has that good rustic appeal This piece is built to last and ready for your home!
Sometimes it’s the little details and smaller décor pieces that truly bring a room together. This candle holder, hand cut from an authentic whiskey barrel stave, has the rings/bands and charring underneath to make it stand out in just the right ways. Make your favorite candle a centerpiece or décor display focal point with this candle holder. The holder is made from a whiskey barrel stave and includes authentic, rusted rings that have been reattached to the holder.
Wood can be affected by heat/cold, humidity levels like "to dry" or "to damp" can make the wood curl in or move out. This is not a defect or damage; this is beyond our control and have no control over if it will happen. If your piece moves inward, a more humid area in your home can help it move back into place & keep it away from furnace grates blowing directly on it. If your piece moves outward, move it to a less humid/damp area or some sunlight. Wood does best at a relative humidity between 50% to 55%. This is the best range to keep your home at to protect your wood furniture. You should also oil your furniture with a rejuvenating oil, which can be found at any home improvement store by the stains. You should do this at least once a year, but it really depends on how often you use the piece of furniture.
We take great care to minimize this in our furniture. We build, when we can, with kiln dried wood that is between 4 to 7% moisture. Barnwood is natural dried out and is a slightly higher moisture content. We also use special fasteners in all our barrels that allow your piece to move with the seasons without binding. Wood is alive and will gain and loose moisture through the seasons of the year. Together with our building techniques and your care of the item in your home will determine how much your piece is affected by the gain and lose of moisture.
